    Thank you for the content it was very helpful to me and I’m sure many others. If I may through out 2 questions to my fellow MPC users. 1. The short question is how does the sequence event copy operate? I’ve been trying to combine multiple sequences into one and adding bars to the sequence anywhere within it and building that way within one sequence. 2. Can we automate in anyway a sequence bpm or global bpm (so the sequence plays back that bpm manipulation? I know the MPC has an LFO so was thinking maybe modulating the BPM with it if that’s possible😂. Thanks all and happy creating!

    • @OllieLoops
      @OllieLoops 14 годин тому

      1. The MPC hierarchy is important in understanding how to work with the device. Notes live in sequences which live in projects. Notes can be copied and pasted with a sequence to duplicate them and make the sequence longer. And sequences can be copied to new sequences. 2. I’m not sure that the MPC has automated bpm changes. Sequences may be subject to the project BPM.

    Regarding your request for a count-in at 14:39 it looks like the 4.04 firmware update may have added this? On my SP running 4.04 I can do the following: - Press Pattern Select - Press Resample and select a flashing pad - Press Shift + Pad 10 (Count-In) to loop through options: Wait, Off, 1Meas, 2Meas - Press Shift + Ext Source and change the routing to ExtIn, then hit Exit - Press a flashing pattern pad to start the count in before recording Optionally, just before hitting the pad to record I can also use CTRL 2 to set the number of measures to record to: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, or infinity. I find this fixed length recording with a count-in really great when wanting to lay down a guitar or bass part over a beat. I just got an SP404 mk2 yesterday (mostly for recording instruments live) and also just wanted to say thanks for such a useful video.

    Hello, great video. Would you say that it can be used to record ‘release worthy’ guitar tracks? Or should I opt for an audio interface like Scarlett etc. I need something portable to record guitars on the go. If it does the same thing, then I’m on my way to buy it

    • @OllieLoops
      @OllieLoops 15 днів тому

      There’s no reason you couldn’t record guitar and put out music using this device. It’s basically the same as an audio interface but more portable and with built in effects. An audio interface will provide you with more options to record, monitor and possibly higher audio quality. But the Mustang is great if you are just recording guitar and what the travel. Hope that helps.

    • @OllieLoops

    Just get a lightning audio interface and skip this unreliable tangled mess. With that many connection, one of them is bound to have an issue. The camera connection kit tends to drop signal. And those USB power boxes are unreliable as heck. A cheap audio interface with stock lightning connections gets this all done with two cables.

    • @OllieLoops
      @OllieLoops 23 дні тому

      That may work for some, but may be more expensive and to record to your iPhone would still require a way to power the interface.

  • @S1ph3r

    I actually really dig it and I love the Ableton cloud design idea. I think I even asked for a feature like this a few years ago (before note was ever released). It works great on mini vacations or airplanes when I'm inspired. Personally, one feature I would really love to see is just a basic time stretching of loops. it doesn't have to be crazy but, just in like a 20bpm range would be nice. I have samples everywhere from 110BPM - 140BPM and that's the range I often work. it would be nice to get some time stretching so things just kind of automatically sync up for a quick workflow (not a in the weeds ordeal).

    • @OllieLoops

      @51AM_ 11 годин тому

      Verselab has its own sound presets on it (sounds really clean). You can sample with it it's a bit shitty. The best part about the mv1 is that you can plug a XLR mic into it and record vocals, good vocal fx. I've been using it for a bit over a year and I don't plan on getting rid of it. The sp404 is honestly very different from the verselab. I had to comment something after seeing the GPT response you got

    Hi there. This is the best instructional video i've ever seen. I think i encountered a bug. Have seen people comment, and would love to know if you can help. I've mapped my Volume parameter of Track 1 to my IRig pad slider. I learn, move the slider, go to the MAIN page, and then the slider works to control the volume. However when i let go it starts to glitch all over the place. changing numbers up and down randomly. 64, 122, 6, 78 etc. I unplug the device, and it carries on glitching. I deleted the output options for the Midi device also, so i know i don't have a loop of midi data circling around. Some people have commented on this bug, but nobody has given any answers. Do you have experience with this?

    • @OllieLoops
      @OllieLoops 2 місяці тому

      I have no experience with that. Does it continue to you happen even if the midi controller is unplugged? The midi controller could have a setting that is causing it to interfere with the MPC. Check the settings on the middle controller. If you have another midi controller, try that to confirm the behavior is the same. Otherwise, it could be the irig controller.

    Almost thought I clicked on the wrong video when I saw the slacklining 😅 Was that Golden Gardens, Seattle?

      Oh man…small world. I was born in Seattle but live across the water about a half hour from Bremerton right now. I’ve been a slackliner for about 12 years now and have slacked at that exact spot (those trees and shore are so recognizable). I’ve also been a didgeridoo player for about 25 years now and have utilized the acoustics of that small tunnel at GG. I’m getting a Deluge soon! I’m a super noob at music/beat production. Blowing into a hollow log is about the extent of my music knowledge. But I do have a song recorded with a Grammy nominated artist named Zeb the Spy From Cairo. I recorded my part (which was just a long drone with some embellishments…animals and such) years and years back and he got around to using it in a song a few years ago. My playing style has completely changed since then. I play mostly NE Arnhemland traditional style now. It’s much more rhythm based. Zeb took my drone and chopped it up in a slicer type sound. It’s on his bandcamp and on youtube under ‘Amnesiac Gods’. Anyways, cheers! Would love to meet up maybe sometime after I get my Deluge if you’re down. I’m gonna be in over my head. I actually just got a Roland SP 404 MK2 yesterday to get my feet wet in the sample/beat making department…to see if it’s for me.
